Curriculum Vitae
Peter de Peinder (1967) studied Chemistry, Major Biochemistry, at Utrecht University and became subsequently member of the Vibrational Spectroscopy department of Prof. dr. J.H. van der Maas as a junior scientist.
He joined Philips in 1999 and became senior scientist at the Material Analysis department of Philips Research Eindhoven and is a part-time scientist at Utrecht University since 2000.
In 2004 he founded VibSpec and in 2006 he left Philips Research and he fully focused on his activities for VibSpec. His activities cover the interpretation of vibrational spectra in general, surface enhanced IR and Raman spectroscopy, nano IR, pharmaceuticals, dairy industry, polymers, process analysis and multivariate data analysis.
In 2009 he obtained his PhD in chemistry on the characterization of crude oils by a combination of spectroscopy and chemometrics at the Utrecht University under Prof. dr. ir. B.M. Weckhuysen and dr. T. Visser. He organises and develops vibrational spectroscopy courses which are held at the Utrecht University and at the premises of customers, dedicated to their needs.
As a part-time member of the Inorganic Chemistry and Catalysis group of Utrecht University he is involved in in-situ vibrational spectroscopy of homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts.
He is a board-member of the Dutch Infrared and Raman Discussion Group (IRDG) since 2002 and was a board member of the Section Analytical Chemistry (SAC) of the Dutch Royal Chemical Society (KNCV) from 2008-2014. In 2010 he became an editorial board member of the journal Vibrational Spectroscopy.
In 2008 he founded VibSpec Software B.V., a company that develops software related to vibrational spectroscopy. Within this company an interactive software program IRIS (Interpretation Support of Infrared and Raman) is developed.
